Cola Rogers Obituary

Cola Lee Rogers, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend, peacefully departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, while under the compassionate care of Bon Secours Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Virginia.

Born on Sunday, December 12, 1937, in Margarettsville, Northampton County, North Carolina, Cola Lee was the beloved son of the late Earl White and Beulah Rogers. Affectionately known as "Cola Lee" by his family and close friends, he was a familiar figure in the community of Seaboard, North Carolina, where he spent the majority of his adult life after retiring from the Columbia Propane gas company. Many residents recognized him for his dedicated service in delivering gas to homes throughout Virginia and North Carolina.

Cola Lee was renowned for his sense of humor, infectious laughter, and quick wit. His home was often filled with the lively tunes of music legends like Chubby Checker and Otis Redding, reflecting his love for old-school music. He enjoyed driving his white Nissan pickup truck into town to visit friends and acquaintances, affectionately referring to them as "his folks." Nearly every resident of Seaboard knew him by name, a testament to his friendly and sociable nature.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Roslyn S. Taylor-Waters (Mark) and two sisters, Mary Creer (David) and Clarine Moseley, all of Franklin, Virginia; aunts, Toni Mason (Melvin) of Margarettsville, North Carolina and Jean Sampson (Sheller) of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Isaiah J. Taylor of Long Beach, Mississippi, Iyana Taylor, and Israel Taylor, both of Franklin, Virginia; a special cousin, Brenda Rogers of Seaboard, North Carolina; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah Blow, and brother, Wallace Blow.

Cola Lee Rogers will be fondly remembered for his vibrant personality, warm laughter, and unwavering presence in the hearts of those who knew him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him.
