Deacon Ernest Lowe, Jr. Obituary

DEACON ERNEST MELVIN LOWE, JR., affectionately known as ‘LOWE’, entered this world on Friday, February 13, 1948, to the late Ernest Melvin Lowe, Sr. and Ida Ramsay Lowe in Northampton County, North Carolina. He received his education through the public schools system of Northampton County, graduating in 1966 from Gumberry High School in Gumberry, North Carolina.

From a young age, Ernest embraced his faith and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was baptized and became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Seaboard, North Carolina, where he served faithfully as an ordained Deacon, until his passing.

In his leisure time, ‘LOWE’ found joy in cooking, playing cards, and spending cherished moments with his family and friends.

On Sunday, March 17, 2024, our dear loved one transitioned peacefully into eternal rest while in the care of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

His memory will be forever treasured by: his wife, Anita Lowe of the home; three sons, Ernest Melvin Lowe, III (Margaret) of Spring Hope, North Carolina, Joey William Lowe (Chivon) of Nashville, North Carolina and Rontrell Lowe (Stacey) of Orlando, Florida; three daughters, Melva Wilder, Angela Shoulars, and CaRea Russell (Charles) all of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ernest leaves behind ten granddaughters, Nevaeh, Taniyah and Alayah Wilder; CaRiah, Cali, and Charli Russell all of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Destiny Lowe of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tiarra Lowe of Greensboro, North Carolina, Kaylee Lowe of Florence, South Carolina, and Kayla Williams of Spring Hope, North Carolina; five grandsons, Kanari Shoulars and Kyrie Sutton of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ethan Lowe and Lamont Williams of Spring Hope, North Carolina, and Ryan Lowe of Nashville, North Carolina. Additionally, he leaves behind one stepson, Sedrick Smith; one step-granddaughter, Kateila Smith and three step-grandchildren. Ernest is survived by his devoted brother, Tommie Lowe, Sr., of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; nine brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, three generations of nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, ‘LOWE’ is now reunited with his brother, Samuel Lowe. May he rest in peace and enjoy a blessed reunion in the afterlife.
